Every now and again a horse comes along whose tenacity, his will to win, and his longevity earns him a deserved fan club. Buffering (Mossman – Action Annie, by Anabaa) was one such horse, and last year, the Brisbane Racing Club unveiling a statue at Eagle Farm to commemorate his connection to the club and to Queensland.

Buffering’s trainer Robert Heathcote told media during the unveiling, “Australians love an underdog and he had all the qualities of a great fighter. He would get knocked down but he would get back up again. And he did it in an era of sprinting greats.”
