Bred to be brilliant, Redoute’s Choice was foaled on the 15th of August in 1996. In 1995, his breeder, Muzaffar Yaseen, sent his young well bred mare Shantha’s Choice (Canny Lad) to boom young sire Danehill. Danehill’s first crop had been born in 1991 and that first crop included Danzero who won the Gr.1 Golden Slipper in 1994. By the spring of 1995, Danehill was the talking point of Australian racing, while Shantha’s Choice was a maiden mare who’d won as a two year old and her real claim to fame were her half-siblings Gr.1 winner Umatilla and at the time, the very promising Gr.1 Blue Diamond winner Hurricane Sky who had just turned four.
